Not too much progress thanks to an awful cold!

Work has slowed down on the house this past week because I came down with a terrible cold! Ugh. But we still managed to make some progress. We finished digging out the “flower bed” in the front of the house and I laid down some stone pavers in the space so it looks a ton better. Then my magical mother showed up with a car full of plants to help out with some curb appeal! She put two bit gorgeous cedar planters on the stone next to the front of the house and filled them full of beautiful perennials and a few annuals (knowing not to do many annuals since I am a terrible gardener). She also filled up two really cool flower pots she bought us with more great plants. Lance stripped the front door and we painted it black and added our new door hardware. Together with the planters and new stone pavers and pots and black front door, our house has some definitely curb appeal! We still have more we want to do (such as washing the siding – that’ll make it look a ton better) but this has been a great start. I will post before and after pictures of the front of the house shortly. What a different painting the door and adding some plants can make to a place!

P.S. My cold is mostly gone so I anticipate some great work happening this weekend! We might see if we can tackle the backyard and remove some tree stumps or at least clean up the debris from cutting down the trees and put it into yard waste bags. We’ll just have to see what weather we end up with!
